Aaron Laws, Sr. Obituary (1945 - 2021)

Aaron Laws, Sr., 76, was called Home to God where he was greeted with open arms of comfort, on Sunday, September 19th, 2021, at 12:58pm (the Lord's Day in Christianity). He accepted Christ at an early age and was Baptized into the Baptist faith at Greater Union Baptist Church in Port Barre, La.A native of Opelousas, La, he was born January 12th, 1945, to Dora Pickney Laws and Hilman Laws Sr. He attended J.S. Clark, in which he later received his G.E.D. Aaron moved to Houston in the mid-late 70's, where he found his ultimate love for driving trucks. Although he had a multitude of different talents, he enjoyed being behind the wheel of a 'Real' 18wheeler. He drove CMV's for approximately 35+ years before he decided to work locally. He was always willing to extend a helping hand. Very compassionate with a heart of Gold. He also had a passion for cooking, his hats, nice suits, his Cadillac cars, and the greatest love for his children. Aaron met and married Shirley Vallair Laws. To this union, they were blessed with five children. After 16 years of matrimony, he later united with Debra Pittman, and in this union, he was blessed with a daughter. He was proceeded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Arthur Laws, Howard Laws, and Rev. Willis Laws; one sister, Janella Thomas; sons-in-law, Chris Jackson and Keith Hilliard; and brother-in-law, Herman Lastrapes. Aaron leaves behind, his 6 children, Charlotte Laws, Mary Laws Jackson, Lisa Laws Hilliard, Aaron Laws Jr. and wife, Amy Nicole, Angela Denise Coco, LaDora Pittman Laws and fiance, Donte Scott; 23 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Lou Ethel Laws Lastrapes, Rev. Doretha Laws Clark and husband Robert; 7 brothers, Hilman Larry Laws and wife Sevonna Tina, Herbert Laws, Rev. Willie Laws and wife Ramona, Calvin Laws and wife Sharon, George Laws and wife Rapunzel, Henry Laws, Ricky Laws and wife Shelia; a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 10:00am to 11:00am in the Chapel of Carnes Funeral Home, 1102 Indiana St., South Houston, TX 77587. Aaron's Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00am.
