In Loving Memory of Adrian Galicia Villarreal
Adrian Galicia Villarreal, 46, of Galveston, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on January 17, 1980, to Fernando G. Villarreal Sr. and Linda Galicia.
Adrian was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to everyone who knew him. He was a man of strong faith who believed deeply in Christianity and always put God first in his life. His faith guided him, strengthened him, and was reflected in the way he loved and cared for those around him. Adrian never hesitated to show the world exactly how much he cared. Those who knew him will remember his radiance, infectious laughter, and genuine devotion to the people he loved. He was a passionate sports fan who loved the Boston Red Sox and Miami Dolphins, as well as boxing and UFC. He loved watching the action and getting completely caught up in the excitement of every game or fight. His family will always remember him screaming at the television, cheering, celebrating, and passionately reacting to every play, punch, and round. His enthusiasm and personality made watching sports with him an experience of its own. Those moments, filled with his laughter, excitement, and unmistakable personality, will be cherished and held close to the hearts of his family and friends for years to come.
Adrian was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and pride. In his professional life, he dedicated 22 years to refinery work and, most recently, three years working with I.L.A Local 20. He took great pride in his work and in providing for his family, always giving his best in everything he did.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse and Lupe Galicia; his father Fernando Villarreal Sr., his sister-in-law, Maria and his close cousin Jessica.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Villarreal; his mother, Linda Galicia; his children, Adrian II, Adriana, Reney, Monico Jr, Marina (Omar), Daizrianne, Amado, Jasenda (Brandon), Santana, his grandchildren, Antonio Villarreal and Izel Arredondo; his siblings, Monica (Ben), Nick (Monika), Fernando Jr. (Monica), Natalie, and Isaac; his godson, Fernando III; and numerous extended family members and cherished friends.
Though Adrian’s passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of all who loved him, his memory will live on through his children, grandchildren, family, and friends, and through the countless lives he touched. His laughter, his love, his hard work, his passion for sports, and, most importantly, his unwavering faith in God will never be forgotten.
As we remember Adrian we share his favorite scripture, “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8)
May these words that Adrian held close to his heart bring comfort to all who loved him, knowing that he is now resting peacefully in the presence of the Lord.
