Alex M. Guillen, Jr Obituary (1941 - 2014)

Alex M. Guillen Jr. was born in Port Lavaca, Texas on July 10th, 1941 and was a long time resident of La Marque, Texas. God asked for one of his greatest souls to come and be with him once again on the morning of November 14,2014. He was the greatest friend, teacher/mentor, husband and father anyone could ever ask for. He had a heart of gold, he accepted everyone he came across as his own and in his eyes there was never a bad person. He loved harder than anyone and no matter what you did, he never turned his back on you. Babies were his only weak spot, the sound of a baby's laugh would bring the biggest smile to his face. He loved camping, fishing, eating pie and watching WWE Wrestling. He always said his two greatest accomplishments in life were his family and working for the best boss he could ask for, Jack Ploss with Chemical Processing/Ploss Industries, for over 40 years. He is preceded in death by parents, Alejos "Alex" Guillen and Jesusa "Susie" of Port Lavaca; sister, Margarita Delgado, Estelle Garza both of Port Lavaca and Anita Baez of Greeley Colorado. He is survived by wife, Dolores "Dee" Guillen of 26 years; daughters, Teresa Guillen of Texas City, Laurie "Jesse" Lopez of Texas City, Chyna Guillen of La Marque and Amanda Perez of La Marque; sons, Alex (Dora) Guillen III of Texas City and Joshua Guillen of Galveston; sisters, Janie Balderas of Houston, Mary Soloya of Conroe, Susie (Jesse) Rodriguez of Port Lavaca; brothers, Cesario "Sonny" Ader Guillen of La Marque, Alfred (Bee) Guillen of Texas City, Frank Lopez Guillen (Dora) of La Marque; grandchildren, Chasity, Alex IV, David and Erica Guillen, Gabrielle Lopez Irons (LJ), Zackery Lopez and a precious great-granddaughter, Natalie Bocanegra. Pallbearers will be Zackery Lopez, Alex M. Guillen, IV, Henry Castaneda, Joe Cadriel Jr., David Guillen and Eduardo Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers are Brandon Sanford and Alberto De Los Santos. Visitation will be held 5-7:00pm, Thursday November 20,2014 at Carnes funeral Home in Texas City, TX with a 7pm Remembrance Service. Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Friday November 21, 2014 with interment to follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock, TX.
