Alex Johnson Sr. Obituary (1928 - 2021)

'Alex Johnson Sr., 93, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at his home in League City, Texas. Alex Sr. was the husband of Audrey Mae Johnson and they shared 49 beautiful years of marriage together. Born in South Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Alex Sr., was the son of Harry Johnson and Jovinia Brandle. Alex Sr. proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He will be most remembered for his loving kindness and wisdom as a husband, father, and grandfather who was committed to family, and making certain that everyone was encouraged to always achieve their highest potential. He also loved cooking and gardening. Alex Sr. is survived by five children: Miatha Rose Johnson, Alex Johnson Jr., Gaylynn Marie Moore-Collins, Margie Ann Moore-Ricks, Yolanda Annette Shanks, and two daughters from a previous marriage. Alex Johnson Sr. is also survived by eight grandchildren; Brandon Joel Derbigny and his wife, Lakeshia Derbigny, Jael Louise Ricks-Word and her husband, James Word, Brandi Nicole Derbigny, Brittani Mae Davis and her husband, Jerome Davis, John L. Ricks IV and Mychal Alyse Ricks, Raphael Moore III, Justin Jermaine Moore; eight great-grandchildren, MaKayla Gooden-Derbigny, Malaijah Derbigny, Kailee Davis, Brandon Derbigny, Jr., Angel Eugenio, Amara Eugenio, Zoii Davis and Roman Davis. Alex Sr. was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Mae Johnson, by his parents, Harry Johnson and Jovinia Brandle, by one sister, Rose Johnson, and one child, Raphael Moore Jr. His legacy and vitality of life will live in the hearts and minds of everyone who crossed his path on this journey.'
