Alyssa Jayne McVeigh Obituary (1999 - 2019)

Alyssa "Jaey" Jayne McVeigh, age 20, of Houston, Texas passed away on the morning of Saturday, October 12, 2019. She was born on June 28, 1999 in Webster, Texas, the daughter of Michael McVeigh and Jennifer Moore. She attended Pearland and Clear Brook High School and obtained various jobs. Alyssa loved music, going to the beach, concerts, playing games, being outdoors, driving tractors, cooking, interacting with animals, playing with and caring for her nieces, playing with Jaxson, and picking flowers with Ryleigh. She will be remembered for her inseparable bond with her sisters, kindness, Hollywood smile, loving soul, ironclad family values, unique personality, compassionate heart, lyrical mind, one of a kind humor, and her contagious laugh. We ask in Alyssa's name that you treasure life and carry on her memory by spreading love and positivity. Her presence in our lives will be tremendously missed. Alyssa is survived by parents Michael McVeigh, Jennifer Moore, and stepfather Nicholas Dettinger; siblings Ashley McVeigh, Crystal McVeigh, Felix McVeigh, and Jaxson Dettinger; nieces Ryleigh McVeigh and Penelope McVeigh; Great grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wealthy following of friends. She is preceded in death by grandparents Buddy Pierpoint, Valerie Pierpoint, and Thomas Stanhope; brother Michael D. McVeigh; cousins Ryan Clement and DJ Barbero. The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 4 PM at Carnes funeral home of Texas City. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Alyssa's name to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at AFSP.org.
