Amanda Marie Kempf-Chollett Obituary (1984 - 2016)

Our beloved Amanda was taken by angels on Sunday, September 4. She was born in Houston, Texas on October 18, 1984. She passed away Sunday morning, September 4, 2016 at the age of 31 in Texas City, Texas. Amanda is survived by her husband, Matthew, son Mason, daughter Aubree of Texas City, parents Doug and Sharon Kempf of La Porte, brothers Dustin Kempf and wife Brittany of League City, and A.J. Kempf of La Porte and numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by grandparents John and Elizabeth Bugg of Crosby, Elva and Alvin Kempf of Yancey and special grandfather Gerhardt Weynand also of Yancey. Amanda grew up in La Porte, Texas and graduated from La Porte High School in 2003. She worked for Walmart for 13 years and was currently employed as Co-Manager of the Kemah Store. Amanda met the love of her life through a mutual friend that worked at Wal-Mart with Amanda and Matthew, and the rest as they say is history. On June 2, 2012 Amanda and Matthew wed and two years later beautiful Aubree Madelyn was born June 26, 2014. Amanda will be remembered by her love of people, constantly thinking of others before herself, taking care of family and friends, and a contagious smile that could light up an entire room. She loved her family immensely especially her children Mason and Aubree. She is greatly loved and will be missed tremendously. Paul Bearers for Amanda will include her brothers Alvin and Dustin Kempf, Brother In-law Blake Chollett and close friends Glenn Yauch, George Mavreas and Chris Armstrong We will say our good byes Saturday morning, September 10, at our church - Memorial Lutheran Church - 2021 29th street N., Texas City, TX 77590. Visitation will be 8AM-10AM with the service at 10. A meal will follow in the Fellowship Hall. The graveside burial service will be at 3:00PM. After the meal we will hang out and socialize and share memories, about 2:15 we will start leaving the church and head to cemetery (no procession) for ANYONE who wants to go. The cemetery we are using is Forest Park East in Webster. Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend. She never would have turned anyone away for anything. We're asking that dress code be casual. No hats, no tank tops, no shorts, no sandals (flip flop type) dress sandals are okay. She was a jean and Capri kinda girl so that's what we're going with (formal dress is acceptable but not mandatory). On days off it was a T-shirt and jean day.
