Annette Laverne Sampson

–

Texas City, Texas

We know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and we know that our mom is now celebrating with the Father in Heaven watching over us. Many adored her, and we will continue to keep her spirit alive in our hearts everywhere we go. We will deeply miss her smile, her conversations about the importance of knowing God, and her giving heart.

The Life and Legacy of Annette Laverne Sampson:
Annette Laverne Sampson was born in Houston, Texas on September 29, 1965, to Barbara Williams and Walter Sampson. She was the oldest of 8 siblings, 3 sisters and 5 brothers, and she never let them forget it. She was a woman who, first and foremost dedicated her life to serving the Lord, through prayer and in doing so, she served and loved people well. In her early years, she went to Eisenhower high school, and McArthur high school, she was actively in band, volleyball, and on the drama team and served as a majorette. These earlier experiences would help shape her leadership, confidence, and heart for people, laying the foundation for her future work and ministry.
This foundation later led to her success as an advocate for individuals in both urban and rural communities, including her work in Texas Organizing Project, where she stood for justice, basic human rights, and the voices of those that went unheard and underserved. She worked with a team of organizers who mobilized black and brown communities, built collective power, and fought for policies that improved the everyday lives of working families across Texas.

Her life and ministry were also marked by her powerful testimony of lung cancer. When doctors said she had only six weeks to live, God performed what they could only call a miracle, giving her two brand-new lungs. In that moment, she was given a choice—to come home or to continue serving Him—and she chose to dedicate her life fully to the Lord. Even the markings of her healing bore witness to her faith, as the way she was stitched resembled three crosses, a visible reminder of God’s healing power, grace, and sweet mercy.

Annette then went on to pastor and teach about the Gospel of Jesus Christ with unwavering faith and conviction. God appointed her the ministry names, The End-Time Prophetic Word Fellowship International and Faithful Generation, through which she faithfully stewarded those pursuing a true relationship with God. Through these ministries, God received all the glory as lives were changed, people were set free, and signs, miracles, and wonders followed.

Annette was preceded in death by her daughters, Lauren M. Aguilar, Allyson L. Moten, and her late brother, Junior Sampson. She is survived by her two children, Cleven A. Worthy and Alonna L. Moten, her seven living siblings, and many nieces and nephews. Her legacy lives on through The End-Time Prophetic Word Fellowship International and Faithful Generation, and through all who were blessed to sit under her preaching and teaching, continuing to carry forward the truth about God, whom she called Yahweh.
