Antonia Sanchez Borrego Obituary (1926 - 2018)

Antonia Sanchez Borrego resident of Houston TX, formerly of Galveston TX. Went to be with our Lord on October 14, 2018 at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center at the age of 92, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 15,1926 in Hidalgo County to parents, Esmerjilda Guzman and Antonio Sanchez, where she was raised and went to school. She also later met, her future, husband Martin P Borrego,Jr. They were married in April of 1945 and then soon started their family after Mr. Borrego returned from World War II. There were 10 children born to this union. Antonia loved volunteering at various schools of her children and grandchildren. She also took pride in volunteering at Clear Lake Regional Hospital for several years. Her interests were mostly cooking and caring for her children and grandchildren. She was known for her amazing cooking, especially, her homemade tamales which everyone loved. She will be missed by her children, Roger Borrego, Freddy (Yvette) Borrego, Sylvia (Freddy) Gonzalez, Alice Martin, Bobby Borrego, Antonia Espinosa, and Tony Borrego; Daughter in law, Marie Borrego; her grandchildren, Martin, Michelle, Chip, Nicholas, Jessica, Felipe, Vladimir, Arnold, Erika, Ben, Sara, Raymond, and Tony Jr.; great grandchildren, Brendan, Madison, Jillian, Andrew, Desmond, Alexa, Karissa, Veronica, Vladimir Jr., Vaiden, Vanzel, Alyssa, Adian, Collin, Preston, Daizy, Aven. Landon, Zoe, Zaida, Robert "Cash', Mersaides, Zailey, Brayden, Bailey, Brogan, and Braxton; great great grandchild, Lotus; sisters, Lola and Eva; brothers, Chevo, Manuel, Adan, and Jimmy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Esmerjilda Guzman and Antonio Sanchez; her husband, Martin P. Borrego Jr; sons, Martin Borrego III, Conrado Borrego, and Homer Borrego; sisters, Locha, Lillie, Julia, and Minerva; and grandson, Conrad. Services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 Beginning at 5:00PM, Eulogy at 6:00 PM, Rosary at 7:00 PM. All Services will be held at Carnes Funeral Home. 3100 I 45 North Texas City, TX 77591. Burial will follow on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 11:00AM in the Houston National Cemetery 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr Houston, TX 77038 under the direction of Carnes Funeral Home.
