Alvin, Texas
Arthur George Hoff, affectionately known as Art, took his final bow on May 5, 2024, leaving the world a little less vibrant. Born on September 21, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, Arthur was a charismatic and creative soul whose witty sense of humor and talent for music brought joy to everyone around him. He spent his final years in Alvin, Texas, after making his mark in various places, including his birth place, Chicago, Illinois, Palos Hills, Illinois, and Santa Fe, Texas.
Arthur's life was a melody interwoven with love for his family, friends, and his passion for music. He worked at the Galveston County Water Authority but his true calling was on the stage, where his creativity shone. Playing the bass guitar for numerous bands and the First Baptist Church of Galveston, Arthur's charismatic presence and talent were undeniable. His love for family, friends, and music made him a remarkable individual, leaving a treasurable legacy behind. As the Bible reminds us, "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise." (Psalm 98:4) Arthur clearly lived by this verse, filling the world with his joyful noise.
Arthur is survived by his loving daughter, Mindy Bagby; his father, Arthur Hoff; his siblings, Brad Hoff, Cynthia Hoff, and Yvette McGrath; and his cherished nephews and niece, Thaddeus Blaszczak, Steven Blaszczak, and Valerie Dees. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Hoff.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, 23 May 2024 at 5:00pm at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, Texas, 77591. The Celebration of Life funeral service will follow at the same location at 7:00pm.
