Arvil Lynn Edwards Obituary (1928 - 2023)

Arvil Lynn Edwards, "Shorty" 94, of Texas City passed from this life on April 17, 2023. He was born in Murchison, Texas on July 24, 1928. He served his country by enlisting into the United States Air Force fulfilling his rank of Staff Sargent in Germany and London. He was also a proud member of The Air Force Boxing Team. Arvil began a career as a roughneck on the oil rigs before becoming a union member of the local Ironworkers L.U. 135. He was also a proud supporter and member of the Republic of Texas. "Shorty" never met a stranger he didn't speak to. Arvil, "Grandpa" kept all his grandchildren supplied with Blue Bell ice cream and chocolate bars. Mr. Edwards is preceded in death by Herman Harvey Edwards (father), Maude Edwards (mother), Morgan Edwards and Joe Edwards (brothers) and JoAnne Nelson (mother of his children). He is survived by Cheston Edwards (brother), Shirlene Lambert (sister). Daughter, Kathy Fewell (Mike) grandsons James Fewell and Dennis Fewell. Son, Steve Edwards, daughter in-law, (Rhonda), great grandchildren, Levi and Noah Edwards. Granddaughter, Christy Kraham (Joesph) great grandchildren, Emma, Elijah, and Eleanor Kraham. Granddaughter, Cecily Edwards (Dale) and great granddaughter, Violet Mitchell. Grandson, Eric Edwards and great grandson, Eric Edwards Jr. . Daughter, Kelley Nolan (Randy) grandson, Ryan Nolan (Jessica) great grandchildren, Alyssa, Ryan, Jade, and Caleb Nolan. Grandson, Ross Nolan, fiance (Katy). Grandson, Randy Nolan (Kylie) and great grandchildren, Rhett, Veyda, Jensen, and Torryn Nolan. Granddaughter, Jillian Lesher (Andrew) and great granddaughters, Kimber, Ellianna, and Eversen Lesher. A special blessing and gratitude go to Ryan, Jessica, and their children for their devotion to Dad's personal and health care needs. Your love and care enriched Dad's life for years. A celebration of life with a seven-gun salute in his honor, will be held at Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. Houston, Tx 77038 on July 24, 2023, at 11:15 a.m.
