Deer Park, Texas
Bobbie Nell Garrison Schembs was born on August 4, 1931, to Wallace Clayton and Mary (Perkins) Garrison in Gause, Texas.
Throughout her life, she held jobs in many cafes and diners and had a great mind for business, even creating and owning Uncle Spike’s restaurant. Bobbie loved cooking and baking and will forever remain family famous for her pies, cakes, and cheesecake squares.
When she was not in the kitchen, she enjoyed sewing and quilting, as well as spending time outside on her porch watching all of nature’s animals and tending to her many plants and gardens. She also enjoyed playing games such as dominoes, moon, and Yahtzee with friends and family, creating cherished memories during those times.
Bobbie was a lifelong member of the church of Christ; her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she valued the fellowship and community it brought.
Her resilient and determined spirit was best captured by her strong mindset of “anything you can do, I can do,” which inspired those around her. Most of all, she was a devoted mother who dearly loved her four children, and her children loved her just as deeply. She will be immensely missed and fondly remembered with smiles and love.
She was preceded in death in 2015 by her husband of 46 years, Fern Robert “Spud” Schembs.
She is survived by her four children; Jack Mitchell (Peggy), Darlene Piercy, Ronnie Mitchell, Patti Schembs; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
