Brock Austin Christopher Obituary (1998 - 2018)

Brock Austin Christopher, cherished son and beloved brother, found peace in the arms of our Lord on April 8, 2018. After a long and hard fought struggle with mental illness, he lost his life to suicide. A celebration of his life was held on April 12, 2018, at Second Baptist Church of Houston. An exceptional young man, Brock was blessed with a brilliant and curious mind, a flair for adventure, and a heart full of compassion. His decision to take his life was completely unexpected and shocked everyone who knew him. Since Brock's death, many have reached out and written about how special he was and how fortunate they were to have known him. They recall his remarkable gift for storytelling, his comedic genius, hysterically accurate impersonations, and quick wit. They laugh at his unpredictable, unique sense of "style", and his ever changing facial hair "designs". They remember his hearty laugh, big smile, and the depth, intelligence, and (often) mischievousness behind it. Most of all, they recall how open and genuine he was, how free they were to be themselves around him, and how much they miss him. Brock was deeply loved by his family, friends and many, many others whose lives he touched. Our hearts are beyond broken. He is survived by his mother, Karen Christopher; brothers Carson Christopher and Tyce Christopher; Grandparents, Gary and Cheryl Christopher, and Wanda McGlaun; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Wes Christopher; Grandfather, Travis W. McGlaun; and uncle Kit Austin Christopher.
