Carl Edison Dowden Jr. Obituary (1926 - 2013)

Carl Dowden was born to Carl E. Dowden Sr. and Ruth Dowden in Houston, Texas on July 24th, 1926 and passed away at Ocean View Sr. Care in Texas City, TX on October 1st, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Eugene Dowden. Survived by his wife, Barbara Dowden; his son, Rick Dowden and wife Pam and daughter, Darla Dowden; grandchildren, Christa, Eric, Zane; five great grandchildren; sister, Darlene Stephens and numerous nieces and nephews. Carl went to Pasadena High School. He served in the United States Army from February 1945 to December 1946 in Squadron 884th Air Engineer Squadron. He re-enlisted in the United Air Force Reserves in December of 1946 to December 1949. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Monday, October 21st, at Houston National Cemetery with the United States Army presenting honors. "He was a wonderful father, brother and grandfather."
