Carolyn S. Horton-Taylor

Carolyn S. Horton-Taylor was born on February 28, 1949 in Galveston, Texas. She was called to eternal rest on November 19, 2025, at Mainland Center Hospital in Texas City, Texas, at the age of 76.

Carolyn started school in LaMarque, transferred to Booker T. Washington Elementary– Junior High School and graduated from Texas City High School. In 1966, she met William Taylor whom she would later marry, and to that union is their son, William Taylor II. She went on to obtain her certification as a Licensed Vocational Nurse from UTMB School of Nursing. Carolyn had a long career as a nurse, providing loving and compassionate care to countless individuals. She was known for going above and beyond to help her patients and their families.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Juanita Horton; brothers, Roy Horton, Jr., Charles L. Frances, and Louis Mayes; sisters, Joan Barr, Lottie Marsh, Nell Dawson, Lois Brower, and Rose Benoit.

Left to cherish Carolyn’s memory is her husband, William Taylor; their son, William Taylor II and his wife, Inez Taylor; grandchildren, Lauren Cierra-Rose Taylor and Edwin Leorey Collins; sister, Rita O’Neal and brothers, Jackie Horton, and his wife, Wanda, and David Horton.

Carolyn will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Her legacy lives on through her family, who will cherish her memory, along with nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The service for Carolyn will be private and only for the family. Thank you for your understanding.
