Cathryn 'Cathy' Thomson Obituary (1957 - 2020)

Cathy Thomson, age 62, passed away suddenly due to cardiac arrest on Monday, May 4, 2020, in Houston, Texas. Cathy was born in Kansas City, Missouri and adopted by parents Marjorie and Bill Thomson. There are no surviving relatives. Cathy will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched. She is especially missed by her closest friends, Patty Poole, Arleen Znosko and Sandy Jurich - all who have appreciated her loyalty, witty humor and straight forward opinions for over thirty years. As a trustworthy confidante, Cathy always provided reliable support and a unique understanding that made a difference in our world. Cathy graduated from Crete-Monee High School in Crete, Illinois, became a published author of poetry and achieved a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. During her career she worked in several accounting roles. Cathy was a devoted employee at Legacy Community Health for the past 22 years where she worked as a committed Operations Manager, Senior Director of Facilities and Project Manager for Insurance, Policies & Credit Audits. Cathy loved a good debate and great conversations. She believed that Voting is an American principle that should be promoted and practiced. She faithfully supported the protection of human rights, equality for women and advocated for animal welfare. Cathy's hope remained consistent throughout her lifetime for individuals to develop a conscious, take action and do the right thing.
