Chris Allan Waddell Obituary (1953 - 2022)

Chris Allan Waddell, 69, of Texas City passed away peacefully in his home on October 28, 2022. He was born July 15, 1953 in Texas City, Texas. He grew up attending school in Texas City and quit Texas City High School to join the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in February 1972. Chris worked as a ranch hand, boilermaker, and a few other jobs, but he made a living as a bouncer, providing protection and security at different nightclubs here in Texas City for over three decades. Some of the clubs he worked at are: Gerry's, R & R, Pure Country, Shenanigans, and Diamond Jim's. He was preceded in death by his parents Clara (Beall) Turner and Clifford Waddell, Sr. and two brothers Clifford Waddell, Jr. and Clint Waddell. Survivors include his partner of over 40 years, Nancy Morecraft; two daughters, Christina Waddell and Heather Waddell; two sons, Joshua Brown and Dean Gates; a sister, Cheryl (Waddell) Mitcham Green; and nine grandchildren: Jacob, Hannah, Jessica and Brandon Rose, Monica and Joshua Studer, Jacob Waddell-Brown and Maddilyn Brown, and Addisyn Summerlin. He also had three great-grandchildren, Ryder and Aubree Duncan and Bella Rose Waddell-Brown. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 14 th at 2:00PM at New Life Fellowship, 2700 Texas Avenue in Texas City.
