Dana Timothy Connor passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, following a long illness.
Born in Stephenville, Newfoundland, Canada, Dana moved with his family to Fort Worth, Texas, in 1963. He attended Castleberry High School and North Texas State University, and later worked for many years at Tarrant County College and alongside his father in the family painting and construction business.
Dana loved adventure and the outdoors. He was an avid surfer, fisherman, and accomplished scuba diver. His interests led him to work in British Columbia’s commercial fishery and aquaculture industry. He returned to Texas and made his home in Galveston, where he served on the maintenance staff at First Lutheran Church, participated in its Men’s Club, and brought enthusiasm to the church’s annual Oktoberfest.
Dana was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Worth and remained a lifelong Lutheran.
He is survived by his father, Alan Connor; siblings David Connor, Diane Higgs, Dale Connor, Debra Fry, Darin Connor, Daniel Connor, and Dallas Connor; and their families. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Connor.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 2415 Winnie Street, Galveston, Texas. Friends may visit one hour before the service. Memorial gifts may be made to First Lutheran Church of Galveston or one of its ministries.
