Dara Yvette Summers Obituary (1990 - 2017)

Our little Angel, Dara Yvette Summers, passed away peacefully, in the arms of her family on November 11, 2017. Dara was born in Galveston, Texas on September 3, 1990. She is survived by parents, Dr. Eddie L. and Donna Dillon Summers; sister, Jasmine K. Summers; nephew, Alfonso Summers and grandmothers, Pauline Buckley Dillon and Cleopatra Summers, of Laurel, MS. Dara also had numerous aunts, uncles, and friends with she enjoyed spending time. Dara was born with a rare birth defect, called Trisomy 22, it was considered lethal to life and her life expectancy was less than a week. However, she was born with the spirit of a warrior and her strength was an inspiration to many people. Her favorite things included jello, birds, watching the NBA, music, the outdoors, school, socializing with the Aunt Helen and plastic toy donuts. She was dedicated to God at First Assembly of God Church in Texas City and completed her education at La Marque High School. Celebration of Life Services for Dara will be at Carnes Funeral Home - Texas City, on Friday, December 1 at 7 pm.
