Donald Stoltenberg

Donald William Stoltenberg Jr, affectionately known as Pepaw, left his earthly journey on Friday, August 7, 2026. In the 83 years he was with us, he lived a full and vibrant life—from traveling overseas, to playing his drums at home and, above all, loving his family to no end.

Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Burnett; his father, Donald Stoltenberg Sr.; and his beloved daughter, Genille Stoltenberg.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 36 years, Corrine Stoltenberg; his children, Fernando Cardona Jr. and Teresa Alexander (Raydon Jr.); his grandchildren, Fernando Cardona III (Cassie), Brianna Cardona (Tre Herrera), Diavian Ivory, Diimone Alexander, and Ariana Cardona (Trevor Hennington); and his great-grandchildren, Zaia Herrera, Noel Herrera, and Zofia Cardona. He also leaves behind a host of extended family members and close friends who will miss him dearly.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find profound peace in knowing that Pepaw has finished his earthly race and is now resting safely in the everlasting arms of the Lord.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. They extend a special and heartfelt thank-you to the HCT hospice team and the HCA nurses for the exceptional compassion, care, and kindness they showed Donald and his family during his final days.

A service celebrating Donald’s life, music, and faith will be held on August 16, 2026 at 2pm at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City.
