Dwain Leon Thompson Obituary (1958 - 2021)

Born in Calvert, Texas in 1958 as the oldest of six, Dwaine Leon Thompson, also known as Ricky, found his calling as a husband, father, and independent business owner. Dwaine met his wife, Bobbie Collins Thompson, as a teenager, and they began a loving marriage on November 9, 2019. An entrepreneurial and business minded man, Dwaine worked his way through college at the University of Houston, which led to independent ownership of Peoples Choice Wealth Solutions. Dwaine held a private pilot certificate with more than 10 years of experience. Flying was his life's passion and the vitality of his spirit. It is genuinely impossible to sum up Dwaine's life in a matter of minutes. To share his vast life history would take weeks or even months. He just did so much! Dwaine went everywhere, he tried everything and made a massive impression on everyone he met. Dwaine and Bobbie both loved the Lord and were faithful members and servants at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church. While we mourn our earthly loss, we celebrate their heavenly gain. We honor, respect, and remember Dwaine and Bobbie together -- through the wind we hear their laughter and through the air we will embrace their hugs. Until we meet again. Dwaine's passing is preceded by his father, Pompey Walter Thompson Sr., and his mother, Willie Ruth Thompson, as well as his sister Roslyn Renae Thompson. He is survived by his adult sons, Donovan Luthez Thompson and Drayton Lamar Thompson; his brothers, Pompey Walter Thompson Jr. and Luthez Thompson; and his sisters, Gwynne Thompson and Cozette Thompson Sweet. Dwaine and Bobbie will live on in the hearts and minds of their loving family and friends - Amen!
