League City, Texas
Edmundo “Mundo” Suarez Sr., 46, of League City, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2026.
Mundo was born on November 25, 1979, in Venezuela. His early life took him from Venezuela to Peru and later to Las Vegas before he eventually made the Houston and Clear Creek area of Texas his home. He was proud of his Peruvian and Latino heritage and made it important for his children to know their culture and family history.
Sports were a major part of Mundo’s life. He loved boxing, football, baseball, basketball, and soccer, and later became involved in coaching and mentoring young athletes.
Mundo also worked in rehabilitation and recovery services and, alongside his son Edmundo Suarez Jr., became an owner of Suarez Recovery Services. Through his work, he supported individuals and families navigating addiction and recovery.
Faith was an important part of Mundo’s life, and Clear Creek Community Church had been part of the Suarez family’s life for many years.
Mundo was known for his outgoing personality, sense of humor, generosity, and ability to connect with people. He enjoyed music, sports, and spending time with family and friends.
Family was central to Mundo’s life. One of the phrases most closely associated with him was, “Familia es primero” — family comes first.
Mundo is survived by his parents, Olga Lara and Jose Lara; his children, Edmundo Jr., Anjelina, and Mateo Suarez; Jamie Suarez, the mother of his three children; his grandchildren, Andres and Elianna Suarez, and Luca Hill; his sisters, Maria Aguirre and Marianna Lara; and many extended family members and friends.
He will also be remembered by the many people whose lives he touched through friendship, coaching, mentorship, church, and recovery work.
Familia es primero.
