Francisco "Puno" Rivera Abrego Jr. Obituary (1956 - 2022)

Francisco "Puno" Abrego Jr. passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 after a battle from complications due to COVID-19 at the age of 65 in Houston, TX. He was born in San Benito, TX on February 4, 1956 to Francisco and Herlinda Abrego. Francisco lived in Los Fresnos, TX until his early 20's and had since resided in Houston, TX. He was a hardworking man, always on the go, though he never hesitated to be of assistance when family and friends were in need. He is preceded in death by his father, Francisco Abrego; mother, Herlinda Abrego; and brothers, Daniel Abrego, Samuel Abrego, and Jose Jesus "Chuy" Abrego. He is survived by his wife, Irma Abrego; children, Francisco Abrego III, Ester Abrego, and David Abrego; grandchildren, Ava Abrego, David Abrego Jr., Emma Abrego, Darren Hernandez, and Lily Hernandez; siblings, Candelaria Garcia, Rosalinda Flores (Manuel), Frances Alatorre (Reynaldo), Anna Infante (Martin), Eva Abrego Garcia, Manuel Abrego (Irma), and Noemi Romero (John); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Public viewing will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM followed by services at 6:00 PM at Carnes Funeral Home - Texas City.
