Frank 'Tiger' Land Jr. Obituary (1968 - 2020)

On November 3, 2020, Frank Neil Land, Jr, "Tiger" entered the arms of his Heavenly Father at the age of 52, while at home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous 19-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Tiger was born on June 30, 1968 in Galveston, Texas to Neil and Sherry Land. He received his master's degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston on December 11, 1998 and has cared for his patients for 26 years. On April 6, 2007 he married the love of his life, Kelly Iles Land. They joined their families together to continue raising three beautiful children, Brooke, Makenzi, and Connor. Tiger's main passion in life was the pursuit of his relationship with Christ and sharing the gospel. He used his medical profession as a means of serving Christ by being the hands and feet of Jesus. He volunteered his time at Lighthouse Christian Ministries by caring for patients, at Galveston Street Ministries through serving the homeless, and at Clear Creek Community Church by ministering to the young adults in the student ministry--through all of these things he touched countless lives. Globally, he ministered in Haiti through Mission of Hope where he helped to lead a team of students. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Tiger his survived by his wife of 13 years, Kelly Land; his three children, Brooke (Riley), Makenzi (Alan), and Connor (Anya); his parents Neil and Sherry; his sister Dottie Jones (Bud) and children, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by many dear friends who have played an integral role during his journey and by his loving fur babies, Dinky Doo, Sadie and Harley. Tiger is preceded in death by his grandparents Dorothy Silva and Frank and Mary Alice Land. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 7th, 2020 at the Clear Creek Community Church on Egret Bay Blvd. at 10:30 am with a visitation starting at 9:30 am. Flowers and donations may be sent to Clear Creek Community Church. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in his name.
