South Houston, Texas
George Moreno was born in Brownsville, Texas in 1945 on George Washington’s birthday. He was called home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 81 years in South Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Irineo Moreno; his mother, Refugia Lerma; and his siblings, Enrique Moreno, Luis Carlos Moreno, Ricardo Moreno, and Rosalinda Velador.
George was a loving and caring son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Belinda Lopez; his son, Daniel (Kristi) Moreno; his grandchildren: Brittany, Aidan, Nathan, Maya, and Julian; and his great-grandson, Brendon. He is also survived by his sisters, San Juana Rodriguez and Maria Eva Valdez, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
George believed in God, family, and “where there’s a will, there’s a way.” He was very proud of being a master carpenter, his work accomplishments, and leaving Brownsville to come to Houston in search of a better life.
He enjoyed nature, parks, gardening, fishing, natural remedies, jigsaw puzzles, music, dancing, homemade food, fixing things around the house, a clean home, comedy tv shows, traveling, photos, catch phrases, giving others "a piece of advice," getting a rise out of people, and making others laugh.
George will be deeply missed by those who were blessed to know and love him. His memory will live on through his family and the many lives he touched.
