Gertrude T. Martin Obituary (1923 - 2019)

Gertrude T. Martin 1923 - 2019 Gertrude Tomlinson (Tommi) Martin passed away peacefully on December 2, 2019. She was born on February 26, 1923 to Ethel May and Sidney Halstead Tomlinson in High Point, North Carolina. Tommi was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Martin, On October 4, 2007. She leaves behind her three children, Robert Howell (Hal) Martin, Jr. (Amy), Diane Martin Tomlinson (Johnny), and Beth Martin Bullock (Bob), as well as her grandchildren, Sarah Tomlinson Easterling (Carson), Amanda Tomlinson Roberts (Jonathon), Meredith Lauren Walker, and Sean Carlisle (Holly). She also had a very special relationship with her great grandchildren - Hudson, Holden, Harper, Hastings and Holcombe Easterling, Lennox and Braylon Roberts, and Trent and Trinity Carlisle. The family gives special thanks to the staff at Treemont Retirement Community where Tommi spent the last ten years of her life. After losing her beloved husband, and subsequently her devoted pets (Fluffy, Baby, Wolfie and Kitty Girl), life lost some of its luster for Tommi. So we all rejoice now that she is reunited with those she loved and lost, and know that she is finally at peace. A memorial remembrance for Tommi will be planned sometime in January of 2020.
