Hector Jesse Vega Obituary (1940 - 2023)

Hector "Jesse" Vega (aka Chuy), was born in Houston on the 19 th of May 1940, and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, the 21 st of March 2023. He was 82 years of age. Family and Friends are cordially invited to a viewing from 10 o'clock in the morning until two o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 26 th of March, in the Chapel of Carnes Funeral Home, 1102 Indiana St in Houston. Jesse is in his new home with his Lord and Savior Jesus and his beloved wife of 51 years - Minnie. Living to cherish his memories are his children and countless grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. As well as his sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, god-daughters, and close friends. He was an avid trail rider during his younger years and participated in the Houston Rodeo Parades with his trail team "Los Vaqueros" as Vice President. Jesse spent many years country dancing with his beloved Minnie and were regulars at the legendary Mickey Gilley's Dance Hall back in the 70s & 80s. Later in life he became an ordained minister with a passion to reach out to the Spanish community, he traveled on a few mission trips around Mexico and loved every minute of it. He owned his own roofing business and worked all over Houston and the surrounding areas throughout his career. Eventually, as the years passed, he moved to the country and life began to slow down for him. He then began cutting his neighbors' properties just to keep busy while enjoying the outdoors every chance he could. Our beloved daddy had a very active life throughout his years and enjoyed it all to the end. We want to thank everyone for the love and support they have shown and given during our time of loss.
