Irene Enrique of Texas City, TX passed away February 13, 2022, in Galveston, TX at the age of 73.\r\n\r\nIrene Ruth Enrique was born in Houston, TX to Mary and Juan Flores on November 28, 1948. Her family moved to Texas City, TX in 1950. She met Victor Garza Enrique in 1971 and later married April 27, 1972. She worked as an environmental service attendant at UTMB for 30 years. She was a lifelong parishioner of St Mary Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. She loved to help indigent families and had volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul since 2009. She enjoyed traveling to and from Mexico to visit friends and family. She will be remembered for her strong character and always being there to help raise her grandchildren. She had a giving heart especially when it came to children be it here or in Mexico. \r\n\r\nIrene Enrique is preceded in death by her husband Victor Enrique, her parents Juan and Mary Flores, and siblings Richard Flores, John Jr Flores, Pauline Busby, and Eugene Flores.\r\n\r\nIrene Enrique is survived by her children Ann Enrique, Joe Enrique and wife Brenda Enrique, Dolores Enrique and husband Shawn McHellon, and Monica Galeano and husband Ramon Galeano, sister Rosie Soliz, grandchildren Angela and Veronica Rivas, Aundrea, Joe Jr, and Ailani Enrique, and Shelby Alexander.\r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Fred Jr and John Bogar, Eugene Jr and David Flores, Joshua Patterson, and Jose Larralde.\r\n\r\nThe family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm in the Chapel of Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30am on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 1604 9th Ave N, Texas City, TX 77590 with Father Clint Ressler officiating. Rite of Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Dickinson, TX.
