Friendswood, Texas
Jessica St. Romain, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, joined our heavenly Father on March 18, 2026 at the young age of 48 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Her family will miss her dearly, husband Kevin; daughter Kalli Rose; parents Larry Sr & Vicky Gomez; brother Larry Gomez Jr and wife Shelley; nieces Layli, Makayla, and Audryna; and nephews Larry III “Trey”, Matthew Jr., Jace and Carter. Jessica brought light and love to her large close-knit family and will be fiercely missed by many cousins, aunts and uncles. She is reunited in heaven with her grandparents, Joe & Ellia L Gomez, Cleto & Maria Quintanilla.
Jessica was welcomed into the St. Romain family as one of their own and will be greatly missed by her in-laws Chet and Susan St. Romain; brother-in-law Matthew St. Romain Sr and wife Lauren; and brother-in-law Adam. She was a bright light in the St. Romain family. In addition, she will be missed by numerous St. Romain family members in Louisiana, including cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Jessica was born in Galveston, Texas on January 14, 1978, and grew up in Texas City. She spent 10 childhood years dancing at Texas City Dance Academy, beginning at just three years old when she traded her roller skates for ballet and tap shoes. She loved recital days and delighted in seeing how many flowers she’d receive. As she grew older, on the weekends you’d see her helping with her parents’ catering business, Gomez Catering, working at festivals.
In 2013, Jessica married Kevin and they built their life together in Friendswood, TX. During their marriage, she not only shared, but embraced his passion of Louisiana traditions: from crawfish boils and LSU games, to Mardi Gras balls and perfecting the “Who Dat nation” chant. Their home was a gathering place typically filled with laughter, loud music, home cooked meals and the pop of a champagne bottle. Though their 15 years together were far too short, they experienced a lifetime of love in that time. The birth of their daughter in 2019 was their greatest blessing and completed their family.
Jessica was a devoted mother to 6-year-old Kalli. She was a guiding light in her daughter’s life, teaching her compassion and strength. She encouraged her to follow in her dance footsteps and somehow Kalli even ended up sharing the same clumsiness as Jessica! Together with her daughter, they enjoyed jamming out to Taylor Swift, traveling with family, and most especially making tamales at the annual Quintanilla family tamalada, memories that will remain a lasting part of her daughter’s connection to her. Jessica will now be Kalli’s guardian angel.
Jessica was “The Authorization Department” of Houston Pulmonary Medicine for 21 dedicated years, where she built lasting relationships grounded in trust and respect with both physicians and patients. HPM was more than a workplace to her – it was a family.
She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, big curly hair, infectious laugh, and being the life of every party. She was a friend to many, as everyone considered her their best friend. Throughout her life, she had a love for traveling, concerts, reading, and listening to true crime podcasts. She’d be the first on the dance floor when her favorite song would come on, and she cherished spending time with the family she adored. In the last year, she had a renewed faith in Christ and faithfully attended Grace Church.
Despite facing the challenges of her illness, she remained positive and at peace as she proclaimed she had the love of God. Our hearts are broken by her loss far too soon, but her light will continue to shine on through everyone’s love for her and in every precious and happy memory. We’ll miss you JJ!!
