Jesusa SanMiguel

–

Dickinson, Texas

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Jesusa SanMiguel, who passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, at the age of eighty-three.

Jesusa was a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a woman whose love for her family was at the heart of her life, and she leaves behind a beautiful legacy that will continue through the generations.

She is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-three years, Manuel SanMiguel, with whom she shared her two beloved daughters, Shirley Tapia and Cynthia Saavedra, and their spouses Jose Tapia and Alfredo Saavedra; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; as well as her four sisters, a brother, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Jesusa was born in 1943 in Sugar Land, Texas, to her parents, Jesus and Belen Capetillo. Eventually, she relocated to Texas City, Texas, where she found the love of her life, Manuel SanMiguel. Together, they spent fifty-three beautiful years building a life and a family filled with love.

Jesusa enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved shopping, watching movies, collecting jewelry and antiques, and most of all, spending time with her loved ones. Her family was her greatest joy, and the love she gave so freely will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though our hearts are heavy with her loss, we are grateful for the years, memories, laughter, and the life she gave us. Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and everyone whose life she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Viewing and Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4th, 2026, from 9 am-12 pm, with Funeral Services immediately following from 12 pm-1 pm at Carnes Funeral Home; 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591.

Forever in Our Hearts

Though we cannot see you,
We know you’re never far,
Your love will shine forever,
Like the brightest guiding star.

Your gentle heart and loving ways
Will stay with us each day
The memories we made together
Will never fade away

You were a mother,
grandmother
and so much more
Your love will live within our hearts
and guide us through the years.
Rest peacefully, until we meet again.
You will be loved forever
and remembered without end.
