Pat Meister

–

South Houston, Texas

John Patrick Meister, affectionately known as Pat or Uncle Pat, was a man of remarkable compassion and generosity. Born on January 14, 1943, in Houston, TX, Pat was a beacon of love and warmth to those around him. His love for cooking, gardening, and fishing were only surpassed by his love for his family and friends. A creative soul at heart, Pat had an uncanny ability to turn the simplest of moments into lasting memories.

Pat's life was a testament to his deep faith and commitment to serve others. As a priest for 20 years with the Catholic Diocese of Galveston-Houston, he embodied the verse from the Gospel of Luke, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." His dedication to service continued into his later years, as he generously devoted his time as a hospice chaplain, providing comfort and spiritual guidance to those nearing the end of life's journey.

Pat is survived by a host of loving relatives, including his brothers Wilfrid and Charles Meister, his nephews Christopher, Charles, Mike, and Doug Meister, his nieces Debbie Reinhardt and Kathy Walters, along with their respective partners. Pat's life was enriched by a long list of adoring great, great-great, and grand nieces and nephews. He also has a close friends too numerous to mention but dear to his heart. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Eleanor Meister, his beloved husband Sergio Torres, and his siblings Thomas and Margaret Meister.

Pat's captivating spirit and enduring love have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of love and service will continue to inspire generations to come.
