Johnathan Knotts

–

Texas City, Texas

We gather today to celebrate the life of Johnathan Michael Knotts, a man whose laughter was as infectious as his cooking was delicious. Johnathan passed away on Sunday, September 6th at UTMB Galveston. He was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on September 18, 1989, where he spent his early childhood years before making Texas his permanent home. He was very proud of his roots and maintained strong relationships with family and childhood friends. He attended Ball High School in Galveston, where he made many lifelong friendships. Johnathan was a dedicated husband to Maggie and a loving father to his children Neveah and Jameson.

With a heart as big as Texas, Johnathan lit up every room with his funny antics and smart remarks. While his personality was bigger than life, his story telling was second to none. He was an avid talker and never met a stranger. He was always the life of the party. He made every person he met feel like they were his immediate family.

In his professional life, Johnathan provided for his family as a hard-working blue collar tradesman. He was truly a jack of all trades. He started working during his early years at Happy Buddha and maintained a close personal relationship with his coworkers and many customers. He spent his later years traveling for work offshore as a crew boat engineer before settling down in the oil field as a pipeline, project manager.

Johnathan enjoyed fishing, hunting and filling the bellies of his many friends and family with his skilled culinary talents. He could always be found at a grill or stove at every family function or gathering. Johnathan was a generous man who brought people of all walks of life together through his food. He will be remembered for his loyalty, generosity and hardworking dedication to his family and deep rooted friendships.

He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Marlon and Evelyn Knotts; father, John Knotts; uncles, Bob Knotts, Tom Knotts, and Kenneth Knotts; cousin, Justin Knotts and many other loved ones and close friends.

He is survived by his wife, Margarita Knotts; his daughter, Nevaeh Lopez; his Son, Jameson Knotts; his mother, Lori Haltom and husband Ken Haltom; sister, Christina Knotts; brother, Duston Thornton; step siblings, brother-in-law, Daniel Daley; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ibarra; aunts, Catherine Booker and Susan Roe; many cousins; nieces, Cheyenne Daley, Savannah Daley, Eva Ibarra , Isabella Thornton and nephew, Dean Thornton.
