Joyce Elaine McManus, an embodiment of love, compassion, and dedication, passed away on June 12, 2026. Born on June 4, 1936, in Batson, Texas, She was more than a mother and grandmother—she was the heart of our family, the one whose unconditional love, unwavering strength, and endless kindness held us all together. Her home was our safe place, her embrace our greatest comfort, and her presence the foundation of countless cherished memories and traditions. Though our hearts ache in her absence, her love lives on in each of us, guiding us through every challenge and reminding us that family is life's greatest blessing. While we grieve the loss of the woman who meant everything to us, we find comfort in knowing her legacy of love, compassion, and devotion will forever live in our hearts. She may be gone from our sight, but she will always remain the heartbeat of our family.

A dedicated worker, Joyce served as a PBX operator at Mainland Medical Center for more than forty years. Her commitment was not limited to her professional life but extended to her personal life as well. She found joy in simple pleasures, like shopping, yardwork, and most importantly, spending time with her family.

Joyce is survived by her daughter Grace Elvaker and husband Lanny, son Shawn McManus and wife Jenny and son-in-law Chis Harrison. She is also survived by her grandchildren Josh Sonier and wife Jamie, Sara Pedersen and husband Easton, and Maximus McManus, as well as her great grand children Joshua and Raynalyn Sonier. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Bruce McManus; beloved daughter, Charlotte Harrison; and her parents, Hart and Vallis Hooks.
