Judith Arnold

–

Texas City, Texas

Born on D-Day, Judith “Judy” Carol Schroeder Arnold was a lively and chatty student and an observant child. She considered being a journalist, which showed up in her love of reading and her awareness of beauty and the world. Later, Judy’s fondness for color and freshness was displayed when she prepared healthy meals as a demonstrator in the Whole Foods Kirby produce section; she was a friend to her department mates and many customers. Judy adored watching wetland birds, gathering shells at the beach, and spending time with her grandchildren and other family. She treasured curling up with a book and her tuxedo/spot cat Amy or walking on the beach. In late February 2023, Judy unexpectedly passed away at her husband Richard’s side. We miss her very much and will always remember her love of cool fronts; meals with her grandchildren (Ally, Jake, and Reese) and other family members (Richard, daughter Catherine, son Wes, daughter-in-law Cherise); watching children’s sports or dance performances; hearing about other places; browsing libraries; cold Hill Country rivers; and watching TV (PBS travel but also The Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars, and basketball) with her husband. Judy demonstrated an interest in the world throughout her life, and we are grateful to her for that enthusiasm.
