Kurt Richard Eggebrecht

–

Houston, TX

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Kurt Richard Eggebrecht at the age of 58. Also with great joy and comfort we celebrate his entry into eternal life with our Savior Jesus Christ. Kurt was born on June 19, 1965, in West Allis, Wisconsin. He passed away suddenly but peacefully on October 3, 2023, at his home in Houston, Texas.

Kurt is survived by his sister Lisa and Aunt Nancy. He is further survived by 2 close friends, Jay and Chris, who are the brothers his parents didn't give him. Many extended family, neighbors, coworkers, and other dear friends also mourn his loss. Kurt is preceded in death by his parents, Roland C. Eggebrecht and Alice K. Eggebrecht.

Kurt graduated in 1983 from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee, WI. He received his Master's Degree in Accounting at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1990. He moved to Houston in 1990 to join the tax department at Enron. He received and maintained his CPA certification. In 2021, he retired from EOG Resources after a 31-year career in international tax.

Kurt was a loyal Green Bay Packers football fan, enjoyed travel and playing tennis, and was an avid gardener. He loved dogs in spite of his allergies, and they clearly loved him too. Kurt was always ready to lend a hand when needed. His favorite conversation topics were the stock market, religion, politics, and gardening.

Kurt will be laid to rest in Brookfield, WI. Arrangements are pending. If desired, memorials may be given to Christ the Lord Lutheran Church (WELS) in Houston, TX, St. John's Lutheran Church (WELS) in Wauwatosa, WI, or the charity of your choice.

Special thanks to Connie, Jay, Fernando, Rosemary, Dora, and others who are Kurt's "family" in Houston. Kurt, we all love and miss you until we meet again. Enjoy heaven
