Lillian Bertha Taylor Carter was born January 3, 1944 in Galveston, Texas to Albert Taylor Sr. and Nazarine (MacAlpine) Taylor.
She graduated from Central High School May of 1962. She attended Prairie View College for a year. She then moved to Chicago, Illinois where she met and married Lawrence Claybourn Carter November 7, 1963. They had four children together, three beautiful daughters and one son. As the years passed, their union was broken, which lead Lillian and her children to return back to Galveston.
She worked as a dietitian at UTMB Medical Center in Galveston, Texas. She later moved to Texas City, Texas where she began working at Childs Works day care as the cook. She loved cooking and everyone loved her cooking, especially when she baked cookies. She later stopped cooking and began working in the nursery at the Children's Corner day care. She departed from this job and went back to cooking at Levi Fry Middle School in Texas City where she retired.
In her retirement years she enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She just enjoyed family.
After a while she began to start leaving us a little bit each day. As it was hard for us to bare, she continued to laugh and be mama.
On December 4, 2019 at Mainland Medical Center Hospital, Lillian Carter received her wings and Heaven gained an Angel.
She leaves to mourn her loss, daughters Yvonne Gamble (Daniel); Lorna Hardy (Lorenzo); and Emmaletta Carter. Brothers Joseph Taylor (Othella) and David Taylor (Phyllis). Grandchildren Lance Haddock (Lisa); Michael Haddock; Diamond Haddock (Desmond); Arielle Hardy (Chris); Tristen Hardy; Kendrick Hardy; Victoria Mullins and Matthew Mullins. Great Grandchildren Ronnie Johnson; Grace Haddock; Preston Fair and Lila Fair and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
She is proceeded in death by Lawrence Carter Jr.(son); Albert Taylor; Nazarine Taylor; Kendolyn Howard (brother); Albert Taylor Jr.(brother); and Earl Taylor (brother).
A butterfly to remind us
Even though we are apart
Your spirit is always with us
Forever in our heart....
