Lillian J. Clark

Lillian Jefferson Clark, age 96 of Texas City, transitioned peacefully on May 15, 2024.
Lillian was born on February 25, 1928, in Opelousas, Louisiana to the late Lloyd
Jefferson and Alice White Simpson.

Lillian moved to Galveston, Texas as a young adult to find better job opportunities in
order to provide for her growing family. She proudly worked in the hotel industry as a
maid, today it’s known as environmental cleaning services, until she retired early to
devote more time to her family.

She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially around the holidays when she would make
her gumbo and scratch-made desserts like banana pudding and sweet potato pies. The
television was a favorite pastime with shows like “The Price is Right”, daytime soaps,
and wrestling from back in the day. You would think the whole arena was in her living
room from her excitement. But what she loved most of all was her sewing machine and
the things she created and mended with it.

Above all, Lillian enjoyed helping and entertaining family and friends with good food and
good times.

Lillian is preceded in death by husband, Wilbert Clark; siblings, Vera Jefferson and
Vivian Courtney; daughters, Patricia Bocard, Deborah Brown Perez, Vera King; sons,
Terry King and Jerry King; granddaughter, Demetria King.

Lillian is survived by sons, Earl Bocard, Jr. and Ivory King; daughters, Brenda Bocard-
Ernest and Tonya King-Lipscomb, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
