Linda Faye Asberry-Mathis Obituary (1947 - 2021)

Linda Faye Asberry-Mathis was born on December 24,1947 in Galveston, Texas to the union of R.T. Asberry and Vera Brown-Asberry. She graduated from Central High School in 1966.She received a certificate in Dietitian from the College of the Mainland.She also worked as a CNA at UTMB in Galveston, Texas, then later retired. Linda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1957 at 10 years old and was united with Compton Memorial Church in Galveston, Texas. She later became a member of College View Church of God in Christ. Also, fellowshipping at Victorious Living Christian Center in League City, Texas. Linda leaves precious and loving memories to her daughters, Cynthia Asberry and Cassandra Asberry; four grandchildren, Iesha Asberry, Roderick Canada, Rickiesha McIntosh and Dominick Asberry (Stephanie); two great grandchildren, Rhyan Canada and Elijah Asberry; sister, Gloria Wesley; two brothers, Larry Asberry Sr. and Evric Asberry; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who all loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Asberry-Taylor. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 10:00am to 11:00am in the Chapel of Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591. Linda's Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00am. Interment, Lakeview Cemetery, Galveston, TX.
