In Loving Memory of Lorraine Valdez Wilson
November 25, 1948 – September 23, 2026
Lorraine Valdez Wilson, a beloved mother, grandmother, friend, aunt, and cousin, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026, at the age of 77.
Born and raised in Galveston, Texas, Lorraine spent her life in Galveston County, where she built a life surrounded by family, friends, faith, and community.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her loving parents, Ismael and Susie Valdez, 3 sister 4 brother and her beloved grandson, Cody Lynch.
Lorraine was one of the sweetest, kindest, and most loving people you could ever meet. She was always smiling and had a heart that naturally put others before herself. She was the kind of person who was always there when someone needed her—a devoted mother, friend, aunt, and cousin. She truly was everything you could hope for in a good person.
Lorraine was the most dedicated grandmother who loved her grandchildren unconditionally. She was there for every milestone. She has laughed with them, cried, taught them a love for Motown oldies and classic country, taught them how to make tortillas and most importantly a mean game of gin rummy. Nothing came before her grandchildren and the love and pride she had for them.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and she deeply loved her church and her community. She especially enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center, where she loved playing bingo and making memories with all of her friends.
Lorraine is survived by her only child, Lisa Wilson Garcia of Austin Texas, and her wife, Chita Garcia; her grandchildren, Gregory, Austin, Zoe, and Mason; great grandson Belin Lynch. Brothers Tony , Jimmy and John. Numerous beloved nieces and nephews , cousins, and extended family members who will forever cherish her memory. Her partner of 30 yrs J.W. Hinton of Texas City.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Heart of Texas Hospice, especially Anita and Arika, for their compassionate care. The kindness and love you showed made this process a little easier.
Lorraine leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, faith, and compassion. Her beautiful smile, generous heart, and the love she gave so freely will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
