Mandei Lewis Obituary (1973 - 2020)

Mandei Lewis graced the world with her presence on March 24, 1973 to Oscar Lee Lewis Sr. (deceased) and Patricia Ann Lewis in Chicago, Illinois. Mandei transitioned to eternity on September 20, 2020 while at home in Humble, Texas. Mandei was an amazing woman. She was beautiful both inside and out. Mandei had the ability to mesmerize anyone she encountered with her quick wit, sense of humor and charisma. She attended Richards Vocational High School in Chicago, Illinois. Later, Mandei graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with both a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and a Master of Science in Education. Mandei lived an extraordinary life and always was the life of the party. Living to the fullest was very important to her because she knew tomorrow was never promised. She thoroughly enjoyed having fun with her family and friends. Mandei was like the matriarch to all she met without any exceptions. She valued her family and constantly did things to keep them together because she always wanted the best for everyone. Mandei's caring soul encouraged her to become a foster parent. Mandei had many young men and women who she cared for in her home. Mandei never met a stranger, she loved hard and cared deeply for those that meant the most to her. She made each person feel special and these young men and women continued to stay in contact with her throughout the years. Furthermore, Mandei became a preschool teacher and continued expanding her teaching career by taking additional courses to continue to increase her knowledge. Mandei was also an aspiring entrepreneur she created a T-Shirt line "Divas with Degrees" and started a family recipe boo. It was very important to her to teach future generations about family history. Mandei is survived by her mother Patricia Ann Lewis; sister/ best friend Carrie Lewis; daughter Stephanie Lewis; sister Patricia Denise Lewis Sanders; sister Odel Lewis; sister Denise Lewis; sister Patti Jo Lewis; sister Pamela Lewis; brother Willie Lewis; brother Oscar Lee Lewis Jr; brother Richard Holmes; grandson Skyler Lewis; nephew Ryenell Anderson; nephew Tavae Lewis; nephew Jaylin Lewis; niece Destiny Anderson; niece Trinity Lewis (Pudding as referred by Mandei); niece Natalia Lewis and an abundance of friends.
