Maria Estella Salas was born April 27th, 1944, at 6:00a.m. in Brownsville, Texas. She attended schools in Santa Fe and was a graduate of Santa Fe High School. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ where she was a dedicated member, of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Hitchcock, Texas. Maria Estella Salas was a member of the
Guadalupanas in her earlier years.

Maria Estella Salas passed away peacefully at home in Santa Fe, Texas where she was cared for by her daughter, Connie Springer, and son-in-love, Rusty Springer, and baby sister, Irma Winston, and her AMAZING Hospice team, Irma, Amy, Kim, Jackie, Teresa, Tracie, Ivette, Karen, which are now considered family. (GODS ANGELS)

Maria Estella Salas had such a generous spirit and pleasant personality. She was loved by many. She was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Yoland Silva Peterson; husband, Nick Stabile; mother, Maria Esperanza Salas; father,
Federico Salas, and brothers, Bobby Salas, Rudy Salas, Raymond Salas, and Jose Salas;
as well as a sister, Silvia Garcia.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the life of her child: Connie Silva Springer; son-in-love, Rusty Springer; sister, Irma Winston; brothers, Johnny and wife Gina Salas, Raul Salas, Carlos and wife Diane Salas, Armando and wife Irene Salas, Eddie Salas, and Rubin Salas all of Santa Fe, Texas; grandchildren, Lindsey and Ryan Taylor of Tyler Texas, Chelsea and Dane Thornton of Dickenson, Texas; great-grandchildren, Jaden Taylor, and Caiden Taylor of Tyler Texas, and Rylee Rose and Dallas Mansfield of Dickinson Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Maria Estella Salas loved to work and loved to walk. Everyone who knew her, knew this about her. She worked for Lipton Tea in Galveston Texas until it closed.
As far as her love for walking, Maria Estella Salas was picked up by the Santa Fe Police on numerous occasions too be brought back home, her and her walker, and they would tell her “Ma’am, you really shouldn’t be on the road, its too dangerous”. As soon as they left the subdivision, she would say, “those fools aren’t going to tell me what to do”, and off she would go again!

Maria Estella’s Salas’s favorite saying was, “Isn’t nothing free in this world but trouble”. She would want everyone to love each other, and not sweat the petty things. She said, “We are all getting older, and the good Lord is starting to call us home, one by one so, love your enemies, pray for them, never forget but always forgive”.

Go out and live your life, and don’t say, I’ll do that someday because, someday may never come. You come into this world with nothing, and you will leave it with nothing. So please everyone, especially my family, GO LIVE!
(Your Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend)
Maria Estella Salas

A Fallen Limb

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says,
“Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times,
the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage,
I’m counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease,
my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life,
don’t worry about falls.
I miss you all dearly,
so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes
we’re together again.”
