Oletha Harville Obituary (1937 - 2024)

Oletha Harville at the age of 87 peacefully passed away at home on September 1st, 2024. She was brought into this world May 23, 1937 in her hometown Paden, Mississippi to her loving parents Chester and Florence Floyd. Oletha was a very crafty woman spending most of her days crocheting countless afgans and sewing together beautifully crafted quilts. These afgans and quilts she made she gave to countless family and friends. They will keep us as warm as the memories we have with her. Oletha loved children, spending most of her life baby-sitting many kids who will always remember her and cherish the memories they created with her. Oletha also had a green thumb. Spending countless hours in her garden tending to her beautiful arrangement of flora and flowers that she grew from the ground up Oletha is preceded in death by her daughters, Deanna Patterson and Dennis Creighton. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Simmons of San Leon, Texas; sister, Nelda (Bill) Newkirk of La Porte, Texas; grandchildren, Donene Hayley (James) of Lawrence, Kansas, Heather (Chris) Tyson of Deer Park, Texas, Damon (Cynthia) Williams of Portland, Oregon, Tasha (Michael) Poole of Deer Park, Texas, and Steven (Eva) Simmons of San Leon, Texas, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, nieces and nephews and numerous friends. All of these people will deeply miss her but she will live on in our hearts and memories. God’s Garden God looked around His garden And He found an empty place He then looked down upon the earth And saw your precious face He put His arms around you And lifted you to rest; God' s Garden must be beautiful He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering He knew you were in pain He knew you' d never ever Get well on earth again. So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered " Peace be thine " Then He took you up to Heaven With Hands so gentle and kind. It broke our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God welcomed you home
