Ray De La Cruz

Ray De La Cruz, 56, of Hitchcock, Texas, passed away on October 23, 2022 at Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital. Ray was born in Texas City, Texas, he was the son of Refugio and Guadalupe De La Cruz, Sr. He graduated from Hitchcock High School and College of the Mainland. Ray was a dedicated employee for thirty-seven years at PNC Bank of Texas City and worked as a Branch Banker.

Ray was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. He enjoyed hunting at the family property. He also enjoyed traveling to Bastrop, Waco, Florida, Las Vegas and Hawaii. Ray was an avid thrifter, he enjoyed going to antique shops; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his contagious smile.

He is preceded in death by parents Refugio and Guadalupe De La Cruz, Sr; brother, Roger De La Cruz, Sr., and sister-in-law, Lillian De La Cruz.

He is survived by his siblings, Refugio De La Cruz, Jr. and Janie De La Cruz-Avila and husband Raymond; nephews, Jason De La Cruz and wife Jennifer of League City, Texas, Roger De La Cruz, Jr. and wife Casi of Dickinson, Texas. Joseph Avila and girlfriend Katrina of Dickinson, Texas, and Alyssa Dieringer and husband John of Hitchcock, Texas; sister-in-law, Debbie De La Cruz of Hitchcock, Texas, three great-nephews, two great-nieces and a godson as well as many other family members and friends.

Pallbearers are Jason De La Cruz, Roger De La Cruz, Joseph Avila, John Dieringer III, Stavros Karamitsos III and Nat Gruesen.
