Robert Lee Stockfleth Sr. Obituary (1941 - 2016)

Dickinson- Robert Lee Stockfleth, Sr, 75, passed into eternal life peacefully on May 12, 2016. Mr. Stockfleth was born February 14th, 1941 to William Peter Stockfleth and Anna Marie Dalbosco in Galveston, Texas. As a youth, he attended Galveston schools and later received his GED. During his teen years, he met the love of his life, Barbara Ann Mantzel and the two were married in February 1958 and started a family. In 1973, Barbara Ann lost her battle with cancer leaving Robert to raise their three children alone. As a loving father, he worked several jobs to provide for his children. He worked at Coca-Cola, Falstaff and Texas City Refining Company. Robert loved spending his spare time with his family and friends either going fishing or sitting in the backyard hosting barbeques. His hobbies included, working with his hands and building Nativity Scenes out of driftwood and other various projects. Robert was very strong in his faith and in his love for Christ. He attended church regularly until his health prevented him from attending. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Barbara Ann, brother, William Stockfleth, sisters Sylvia Quebe and Betty Judd, he is survived by his companion, Sharon Crawford of Dickinson, sons, Robert Lee Stockfleth, Jr. and Susan of Galveston, Randy Wayne Stockfleth and wife Denise of League City, and daughter, Shannon Denise McLaren and husband Mickey of Santa Fe. Grandchildren, Kimberly Lerma, (Joshua), Brandon Stockfleth, Megan Stockfleth, Bryce McLaren, Zachary Stockfleth, Sheldon Stockfleth, Arin McLaren, Clay McLaren, Carter Stockfleth, Kendall Stockfleth and Brandy Elder, (Josh), sisters, Joyce Guyewski and Shirley Stockfleth Dial, as well as five great grandchildren, Kiaya, Chyanne, Aizen, Brendon and Trevor, numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends. A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church on June 3rd at 11am. Church is located at 2415 Winnie, Galveston, Texas. A Memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Richard Rhoads. A celebration of life will be held at the Parish Hall immediately following memorial service. All are welcome to come celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Camp Hope - Houston PTSD Foundation of America.
