Roy Johnston passed away suddenly on January 12, 2022
Roy was born on November 18, 1952 in San Benito, Texas. He was the son of Howard and Jane Johnston of Houston, Texas.
For the last thirty-five years, Roy worked at Anheuser Busch in Quality Assurance as a Technician or as he liked to tell people a" beer tester". Roy also, for many years, was the Teamsters Local 919 Shop Steward. He loved fighting for the worker's rights.
Roy was brilliant {he could finish the paper's crossword puzzle waiting in the lunch line and read an entire book in one evening}, charismatic, hilarious, kind and fun loving. He always wanted to try something new or go somewhere he'd never been. But he liked nothing more than sitting at his favorite spot at The Bayou watching sports, smoking a cigar and drinking a Bud with his friends. He got a great kick out of dressing up for Renaissance and Dickens on the Strand with his wife, Dolores, to whom he was a great companion.
Roy leaves behind his wife, Dolores (Doje); sons, Bret Johnston and Matt McKay; daughter-in-law, Min K Park McKay; twin granddaughters, Olivia and Vanessa McKay; sisters, Nancy Scott, Susan Hamm (David) and Kay Booth {Bus}; nieces and nephews, dogs, Chloe and twenty-one year old, Jack, and many dear friends.
Special thanks to all the kindness and support from the people at Anheuser Busch and the Bayou Sports Bar and Grill. You are wonderful and very appreciated.
No viewing will take place but a celebration of life will be scheduled in the future.
