Sha'Lisa M. Petteway

Beloved Wife and Mother, Sha'lisa Marene Petteway was born in Galveston, Texas on July 5, 1980 to Michael and Lorenea Bryant.
On March 5, 2001 she married Thomas Petteway the love of her life. She loved to cook and bake during her spare time, talk to her friends, read her books and spend time with her family laughing, playing games and enjoying herself being a mom. In her youth she ran track for La Marque High School and received winning awards for her speed in track. She graduated Valedictorian in the class of 1998. After graduation she attended Prairie View College as an undergraduate then later became a Pharmacy Technician for 5 years. During her untimely death, she was employed at UTMB in the Physical Therapy Department for 15 years and was continuing her education as a Real Estate Agent.
She is preceded in death by her father, Michael and mother, Lorenea Bryant. Sha'lisa is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 20 years, Thomas; she leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her two sons, Keyshawn and Koby; godson, Xvaier; sister, Sha'neda Bryant; brother, Michael Bryant; nieces, Sammiah King, A'niyah and Aubri Smith; sisters-in-law, Icezrine and Chaka; brother-in-law, Anthony; father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Patricia Johnson.
She leaves great memories behind in the hearts and minds of a host of dear loved one's. Her aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers, who loved and cherished her dearly. Lisa will be sadly missed but will remain in our hearts.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 10:00am to 11:00am in the Chapel of Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591. Sha'lisa's Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00am with Pastor Michael Porter officiating.
