Sister Shirley Ann Franklin was a woman of extraordinary grace, serving her God, Jehovah, and remaining a pillar of strength throughout her life. Her faith was the foundation of her existence, guiding her steps with a quiet dignity and a radiant spirit that touched everyone she met.
As a dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Shirley found deep joy in her spiritual walk. Her commitment to her faith was evident in the way she lived—with kindness, patience, and a steadfast hope in the promises of the scriptures. She drew great comfort and strength from her relationship with Jehovah, and that divine peace was reflected in her warm smile and the compassionate way she cared for others.
Shirley’s spirit of service extended into her professional life as well. A proud graduate of Lincoln High School, she went on to spend 45 years as a vital part of the team at Mainland Center Hospital. Serving as a unit secretary and nurse's aide in the Emergency Room, she was a calm and steady presence during difficult times. Her decades of work were a true ministry of care, reflecting her deep-seated desire to help those in need.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Franklin; her parents, Thurman Aldridge Sr. and Juanita Aldridge; her one and only son, Tony Floyd; and her baby sister, Pauline Aldridge.
While her faith was her anchor, her family was her heart's greatest joy. She shared a beautiful and unbreakable bond with her devoted sister and caretaker of seven years, Betty Jean Aldridge, whose loving and tireless care was a testament to their deep sisterly love. She was also a source of constant support for her brothers, Thurman Aldridge Jr., Steven Wayne Aldridge, and her devoted brother Gary Wayne Aldridge. She also held a special place in her heart for her aunt, Joyce Matthews, and her devoted niece, Diya Dyson. She also leaves behind various nieces, nephews, and other loved family members.
