Steven David Schaub Obituary (1957 - 2023)

Steven David Schaub, known to his loved ones as Steve, passed away on October 15, 2023, at the age of 65 in Houston, Texas after a long battle with Crohn's Disease and Brain Cancer. He was born on December 3, 1957, in Miami, Florida and grew up in Yonkers, New York. Steve was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Alisa Schaub, their children Cory (Terrie) and Jenna Schaub, and his cherished grandson, Edward Crowley. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Debra (Mark) Bator, his mother-in-law, Roberta Spatzer, his cousin Susan (Mitch) Stein, and friends Todd (Janice) Newman, Jeff (Marilyn) Neiss, Craig (Miho) Rosenberg, Philip (Paula) Klipper, among many other friends and family. Steve was preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole Schaub, his father, Herbert (Claire) Schaub, and his father-in-law, Harold Spatzer. Steve completed his education at Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, New York, and furthered his studies at San Jacinto Community College. He dedicated his career to the healthcare industry, working as an X-Ray and Surgery Technician at Humana Clear Lake Hospital for 7 years. He then transitioned to become an X-Ray Sales and Service Technician at Cranford X-Ray, where he served for 17 years. In his free time, Steve had a passion for National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) drag racing, driving with his mini cooper club, fixing cars, playing the drums, and doing work around the house. He cherished moments spent with his family and enjoyed vacationing together. He also loved spending time with his furry friend, Daisy. Steve's faith was important to him, and he found solace and community at Clear Creek Community Church. A memorial service to celebrate Steve's life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 1 P.M. at Clear Creek Community Church, located at 16743 Diana Ln. Houston, Texas 77062. The caring professionals at Carnes Funeral Home in Houston, Texas, are assisting the family with the necessary arrangements. The Schaub family wants to give special thanks to Jacob Mandel M.D. (Baylor College of Medicine), Michel Kafrouni M.D. (Gastroenterology Consultants), and Harbor Hospice of Houston, Texas. Steve will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit, his sense of humor, his dedication to his work, and his love for his family and friends. He had a one-of-a-kind smile despite all the obstacles and challenges he faced in his lifetime. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. May he rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
