Thelma Oleda Thompson Kingsbury Obituary (1918 - 2015)

Thelma Oleda Thompson Kingsbury, second child born to Emil and Adele Thompson June 18, 1918 in Galveston. Thelma lived all her life in Galveston until moving to La Marque to purchase The Oak Grill which she operated for 20+ years. Thelma was baptized and made her first holy communion in the First Lutheran Church in Galveston. She was preceded in death by past husbands, Elton "Smokey" Light, Thomas P. Kingsbury; daughter, Jeanine Marie Light; sister, Bernice Davenport. Survivors include her niece Adele Davenport Parrish of Texas City and Adele's children, Kimberly Bennett of Little Rock, AK, Terrance Stunson of League City, TX and Jack "Jab" Bennett of Galveston. The graveside service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, TX In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial Lutheran Church, 2021 29th Street N., Texas City, TX 77590
