Thelma Cecelia Whitaker

Thelma Cecelia Jenkins-Whitaker was born to Vida and Clyde Jenkins on March 29, 1957. Thelma was received in heaven by our Lord and Savior on September 16, 2019 and preceded in death by her parents. Joyfully, Thelma is survived by her husband, Leo; sons, Nelson and Deleon, and daughter Cherise.
Thelma was the youngest daughter of six siblings; Elouise, Earline, Alma, David and Patrick.
In Thelma's early years she attended Our Mother of Mercy Elementary school and later attended Mount Carmel Jr High. She lived most of her life in Houston, Texas; however after the death of her mother, Vida, she moved to San Diego, California where she attended Kearny Mesa High School, graduating with Honors in 1975.
She entered into marital bliss with Leo Whitaker Sr. on August 28, 1986, a union that has endured for the past thirty-three years.
Thelma worked in the field of Cyclosporine at Texas medical center for more than twenty years. She was a warm hearted , kind, compassionate person who placed her highest value on her family and her relationship with the Lord.
She was a character member of the New Covenant Christian Church.
