Trevor Darrell Gregory

–

Texas City, Texas

On April 18, 2026, we lost an angel on earth. Trevor passed away at just 20 years old—gone far too soon. He was born on February 27, 2006, in Texas City, Texas, to Andrea Nichole Sumlin (Frank) and Contrevor Mario Gregory.

From the day he was born, Trevor brought joy and smiles to everyone he encountered. He had a deep love for his family and friends and lived life with a vibrant spirit. Trevor enjoyed entrepreneurship, sports, and fashion, always carrying himself with confidence and style.

Trevor was a proud graduate of Texas City High School, Class of 2025. He attended his first two years at Hitchcock High School, where he played basketball and was part of the 2023 state championship team. After transferring to Texas City High School, he continued playing basketball, became involved in the CTE Program, and successfully completed his studies.

Since the age of five, Trevor has played for several city and AAU basketball teams across Texas, excelling as both a point guard and small forward. In addition to basketball, he developed a passion for working out and boxing at HulkFit Boxing Gym. When he wasn’t working, Trevor was dedicating his time to being a loving son, brother, friend, and boyfriend.

Before graduating, Trevor earned a position with G&H Towing through the Texas City CTE Program. He began working there in May 2025 and quickly grew to love the job and the family he built while working on the ships. Trevor was actively working toward becoming an engineer.

Trevor will be remembered by many names—T-Greg, Greg, Pooh Bear, Silky Smooth, Swaggy T, and Clever Trevor—each reflecting a different part of his personality. He loved God and attended Grace Church in Houston, Texas. To know Trevor was truly to love him.

Trevor leaves behind a large and loving family to cherish his memory. He is survived by his parents, Andrea Sumlin (Kenneth Sumlin Sr.) and Contrevor Gregory (Tracy Gregory); his siblings, Chelsey Gregory, Gabrielle Gregory, Kenya Sumlin, Giselle Gregory, Kyrin Sumlin, King Sumlin, Mariah Sanders, and Kenneth Sumlin Jr.; and his grandparents, Constance Ray, Debra Mack, Charles Gregory Jr, Veverly Sumlin, and Kenneth Sumlin

He is also survived by a host of loving aunts and uncles: Andre’ Frank, Brianne “Bebe” Ray, Ursula Bruce, Kevin Frank, Cheyanne Ray, Nadine Gregory, Kim Gregory, Geneva Gregory, Charles Gregory III, Colby Gregory, Christal Davis, Paula Boast, Levon Frank, Kenneth Ford, Darrian Sumlin, and Jasmine Francis. Trevor also leaves behind his loving girlfriend, Rendi Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth Ford Sr., and his great-grandparents, Chris and Rita Ray, and Inez Frank, great grandmother Maeola Sumlin.

Trevor’s life, though brief, was filled with love, purpose, and impact. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
